Created by the Environmental Integration Initiative:
A collaborative project involving the Massachusetts Manufacturing Partnership, the Massachusetts Office of Technical Assistance, the Toxics Use Reduction Institute, and the Department of Environmental Protection.

Aim:

The goal of this manual is to provide demonstrations and resources for manufacturers who are interested in increasing cost savings, productivity, and competitiveness by reducing the environmental burden.
Site Summary:
This Site highlights the importance of Cleaner Production (CP) in Industry.  The chosen project  focuses on the metal and electronics industry. Nevertheless this manual applies to all industries and demonstrates the desirable impacts (cost savings, productivity and competitiveness) that Cleaner Production can have if implemented.
The Manual:
Chapter 1
Introduction on Projects and Partners : -
This chapter highlights the importance in educating all sectors involved in the process; collaborating with government agencies for assistance; and showing companies how generating less waste and improving environmental performance has direct benefits in cost savings and increased productivity, efficiency and competitiveness. An overall understanding of pollution prevention as opposed to end of pipe treatment makes more economical sense.

Chapter 2
Profile on MA Manufacturers : -

Chapter 3
Production : -
Pg1 - starts with the definition of Cleaner Production.
Pg2 - Components of Cleaner Production. Six components are given.
Pg3 - The importance of Cleaner Production and Toxic use reduction.

Chapter 4
Implementation : -
