Stimulating dialogue between stake
holders and promoting the use of environmental management tools.
Together with various agencies and
organizations throughout the world, the following have been produced recently:
Environmental Management Systems:
The United
Nations Environment Program (UNEP), the International
Chamber of Commerce (ICC), and the International
Federation of Consulting Engineers (FIDIC) have produced a practical
guide to environmental management systems (EMS). This resource kit gives
trainers and managers the tools necessary to conduct training courses in
EMS for companies in their own region. Elements are included that are common
to the International Organization
of Standardization (ISO) environmental management system standard,
ISO 14001.
